Christmas Blessings!

Christmas was wonderful in our home! On the Tuesday before Christmas day, we went to the doctor for the “big ultrasound,” that is, we found out whether we are having a boy or girl! A friend gave us the idea to have the nurse write it inside a Christmas card to open on Christmas day. What a fun idea! We waited until 11:00 AM on Christmas morning when all the family was present and we opened it to find out that we are having another GIRL! We’re so excited. Sisters! Ann Clayton will have so much fun! We feel so blessed!

Despite the craziness of the season, we wanted to be sure Ann Clayton, with the little understanding that she has right now, understood what it was all about . . . Jesus! Although I’m certain she understood very little of what we were talking about, we used our nativity scene to explain to her about the birth of Christ, we celebrated Christmas day with a “Happy Birthday Jesus” cake, and we participated in the church kid’s Christmas program—I was a shepherd and Ann Clayton a precious, baby lamb. It was a wonderful Christmas!

And now it’s time to start getting the house back in order . . . my least favorite part. Two things I absolutely hate doing: packing up when departing from a vacation and putting away all the Christmas decorations. Oh well, it will come again and there’s plenty of reason to celebrate all year long anyway!

If I don’t make another entry before the new year, which, given my track record is not likely, I’ll see you next year! Happy New Year and may God bless you and yours the coming year!

1 Peter 1:3-5 A Reason for Celebrating
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
